There is a lot of noise right now about the NDIS — what might change, what is being negotiated, what families should expect. It can feel unsettling, especially if therapy is already part of your child’s week or you are mid-way through planning for home modifications or community access goals.
What we can say is this: the work happening in sessions does not pause while policy debates play out. A child practising pencil grip at the kitchen table. An adult building confidence with a morning routine. A family learning strategies they can use every day, not just when a therapist is in the room. That work continues.
At Care For Welfare, the caseload stays small by design. The same therapist, the same relationship, the same understanding of where someone started and where they are heading. When the broader system feels uncertain, that consistency is not a small thing.
If you have questions about how potential NDIS changes might affect your current supports, your NDIS planner or support coordinator is the right person to speak with. We are always happy to talk through what OT looks like in practice and whether it might suit your goals.
