Did you know that questions about NDIS support coordination and public holiday claiming are among the most common raised in the sector right now? 📋

National Disability Services (NDS) recently shared key clarifications that may be helpful for NDIS participants, families, and support coordinators to be aware of. Here are two important points:

🔹 Support Coordinators and Emergency Planning
Support coordinators are not automatically required to create a personal emergency plan for each participant — particularly where coordination is delivered remotely. However, according to NDS guidance, coordinators are expected to discuss emergency planning with participants and help make sure relevant plans are in place with the right providers. If you work with a support coordinator, it’s worth asking: “Do I have an emergency plan in place?”

🔹 Public Holidays and Your Services
Anzac Day falls during an active period for NDIS service delivery. If you’re unsure how public holidays affect your scheduled supports or therapy appointments, the best step is to check directly with your provider. Public holiday arrangements can vary, so it’s always good to confirm in advance.

These updates are a helpful reminder that staying informed about how your supports are managed can make a real difference in your day-to-day life.

General information only. Not personal advice. Speak with your NDIS planner, support coordinator, or allied health provider for advice specific to your situation.
